I find the older I get (53 now), the less I want to deal with an overly emotional woman, especially if she's close to my age, because I'd like to think that she knows better at this point in life to not sweat the small stuff

A year before graduation our class teacher asked what we hoped our direction in life would be. There were trades and professions, housewives and adventurers. Asking me I told him I aspired to be a dirty old man. Girls eyes rolled, some guys laughed, the teacher in his 50s didn't know how to respond. Finally asking me to explain. I told him that to reach old age in fitness and health was an achievement. To do so still being interested in women, or even having women interested in me would indicate a successful life well lived.
He said that he would accept my aspirations.

My wife and I been married for 28 years. Been married since High School and now we are 47 years old. The key is that I still make her laugh till this day. Open communication and allow each other to try new things and make mistakes. We don’t judge each other. We are still going strong and understand how difficult it can be now for relationships to grow. We are the same age and can relate to music, growing up milestones, and even old tv shows and movies that we can appreciate it. Also we went though conflicts, wars, pandemic, desert storm, and the technology age. My memory is full of us being together. Good luck to everyone

Dude number three is very true, when women are freaking out and emotional about certain things, a mature man will be able to keep composure and keep his cool for the both of them, In my twenties I struggled with that a lot, anxiety about what she was feeling or thinking
