Connecting inputs to belt-fed autoloaders was a bug apparently, it cannot be done in the current devtest. Otherwise, great tutorial!
"v2.6.1 [Fix] <APS>: Belt-feed autoloaders cannot be directly connected to the input ports any more (at least one clip is now required)"

You need to update this 1m beltfeeder needs rack now and doesn't seem to work the same any more as what is holding me back from a full auto is the RMP of the loader

Really well informed video, been looking for 3 days for a tutorial that’s updated and works, was able to just create a 100mm with a fire rate of 250 RPM, any possible way to have a 200mm around the same rpm that can be used for a smaller boat build or will it only be achievable for bigger boats

So yes fire rate is amazing and satisfying but you do also need uhm some caliber and larger bullets to really do well.. reason why is ya the only use for advanced cannons is fire rate is because damage per shot is for sure to crams but don’t get me wrong advanced cannons can shred easily. Having nice high explosive bullets are great but make sure you do a little trick with the squash head. Just make sure the special factor is zero. Squash head right now works like HEAT. Also it’s better to put clips onto the autoloaders as you don’t get a penalty from moving the ammo from the source to the auto loader to the gun it’s just from the loader to the gun with the clips. Same with belt fed. One way to make a fast fire rate high caliber weapon is with rail guns since you don’t gotta use gunpowder the barrel barely needs coolant you just need energy to charge the bullet and propel it so fire rate is as fast as you want with as big as you want but it’s complicated I don’t exactly remember how to make it insanely fast. But I do know advanced cannons are by far the best ballistic AP weapon basically going through entire battleships from the front to the end. Latherix who does FTD made a automatic tail gun in his adventure mode. You also don’t even need the connectors just use the gauge snake to attach autoloaders. And the larger recoil absorbers absorb large amounts of recoil but suck with fire rate while smaller the of course smaller amount they absorb but they do it much faster. Advanced cannons are cool but I like broadsiding with crams and watching their ship get blown in half now. Also try out Particle cannons and emp and such.. remote turn off button lol.... really great video and you reminded me of some things that I’ve long forgotten too... you can also attach ammo input straight to the firing pice and you will actually have a decent fast fire rate gun good for tiny AA

How do people have it so the camera moves backwards from when you place? Mine goes forwards every time I place

I have a n issues with the accuracy of my small AA turrets since i built a ship designed to basiclly be an AA platfoirm so that it can lead my small spam ships into battle giving aircover so its important its accurate ive managed to make it decent but its just not amazin yet thats my main issue atm

I have 6 barrels but they all fire at the same time, Is there any way to make it stagger fire so it fires like a minigun?

Belt fed auto loaders now cost 600 material each, so it’s no longer viable early game

Please, if you are going to call this a beginners guide... Stop moving the mouse around so fast and mention where things are from. Maybe get someone who doesn't play the game to watch it too
