Given the tease about the Stranger Things season 5 story being tied to events in season 2, some season 2 questions could finally be answered in the new season, along with Will's bigger role. Kali was quickly neglected by the writers when her own season 2 episode was the most divisive among the fanbase, but as the character hasn't been seen since that episode, the fanbase still wants to know what happened to the character. In that respect, Kali could make a major return in Stranger Things season 5.

Given all the talk about Will having a much bigger role in the Stranger Things season 5 story, which makes up for the character being sidelined in the previous two seasons, the show could return to some of its best moments. Will's hair standing up on the back of his neck in the Stranger Things season 4 finale hints that he's still truly connected to the Upside Down and could potentially cross paths with the Mindflayer again. More interestingly, Will could be given more of a heroic arc in the upcoming season, and given his connection to the Upside Down, that could be used as some sort of powerful weapon.
