Inspiration behind this video:

Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer releases a quick glimpse at the season 5 premiere episode's call sheet, but one character has been obscured among the returning cast. The upcoming season is set to bring the Netflix show to a close after following a group of kids' fantastical adventures since its debut in 2016. Stranger Things season 5 is expected to pick up sometime after the cataclysmic events of season 4, with Hawkins grappling with the devastation from Vecna's (Jamie Campbell Bower) attempt to bridge the 1980s American Town with Upside Down.

With Stranger Things season 5 set to bring the series to a close, the season is expected to focus primarily on the remaining cast and concluding their arcs for good. However, it has already been confirmed that Terminator star Linda Hamilton will join the season as an undisclosed, potentially new figure. As such, the mystery new character could be Hamilton's role, with the episode alternating between catching up with the core cast while introducing her to the current Hawkins landscape.

It's strange to think that the Mind Flayer was (technically) the secondary antagonist of the series, despite being the main antagonist of two seasons (in a row, at that). I mean, how many times does it happen that the secondary antagonist of a series is the main antagonist for two seasons in a row? With 'Stranger Things' and 'Supernatural' we already have two examples. Who is next?

Synopsis

Hawkins chief of police, Jim Hopper, disapproves of Eleven and Mike's budding relationship, while Joyce considers moving out of Hawkins for a better life for her children and herself, leaving the state of the children's friendships and her own relationship with Hopper in the air. Things start to kick up again when Joyce and Murray find a secret message that changes what they previously thought happened during the Battle of Starcourt. At the same time, dark secrets reveal themselves in Hawkins that propels Dustin, Lucas, Max, Nancy, Steve, and Robin into a mystery that threatens to unravel Hawkins. And finally, Eleven is forced to confront her past alongside Mike, Will, and Jonathan....and while running from the very people who started Project MKUltra.
