I don't disagree with your take on the Neo, except I feel like the improvement's you asked for are basically an Avata 2 and a Neo combined into once device. Maybe in the future we can get soemthing that meets in the middle of both worlds? I picked up the Neo but basically just for easy quick shots and don't expect anything miraculous out of it. Mainly just personal footage to share and not for my professional use.

The neo is a fantastic drone. Most drones on the market have their strengths and weaknesses depending on what you plan to use them for. The neo performs flawlessly for what it was designed to do (in my opinion) at an affordable price. I purchased it when it first came out and have zero regrets. ❤

I made an opinion video where I said BEFORE the Neo was released that its meant more for content creators rather than drone pilots. The AI tracking and simple modes are going to help with B roll or act as a 2nd camera man. So I feel DJI made it not prioritizing a lot of the complaints you had. I just got my Neo because it looks like people are liking the tracking more than I imagined they would. But I haven't got to fly it yet. Stupid adult responsibilities. Thanks for the video.

SD card, ...kind'a important. Wish I didn't have to use the phone, but so far I couldn't pair it with RC-2 dedicated screen, which I love. Tried over and over. Then, tried the RC-N2 with the phone, and it works well. But recording on the phone is nice and I don't have to rebind back and forth from Mini 4 to NEO. Love how it is so small. I went into areas that I think Mini 4 would be spotted, near a trucking company where drivers strap their loads with diesel engines idling so the screaming props were drown out, flew around a few minutes, and flew right into my car without being noticed by a guy strapping a load only 20 feet away. Down the street is a large tent encampment. Flew there for a moment. Nobody noticed. This little thing is fun and doesn't attract negativity.

They do need to update the app, to let you control the exposure and white balance, without the need for a physical controller, at the very least.

That is something they can do. Its just a software UI improvement. And in my mind, if they do, it would make this an easy choice, to complement my DJI Mini 4K (edit now replaced with Mini Pro 4 as the 4k didn't work).

Most of these problems are not present with the mini 2 se. So glad I didn’t hesitate to buy the 2 se.

The horizontal control is now available as well as a new cheaper FPV headset too. Hopefully more of these downsides will be sorted soon.

This is probably the best Neo vid. I have 4 Tellos and a Neo witth n3 controller. When I started compare them, got critics, that the Neo is the newer version of the Spark. I had a Spark too and they are not the same category. I fly these two with Dronemask 2. They are very similar, even the max speed is almost the same.

The Tello probably would be quieter, not having ducts, but having bumped into things already with the NEO, I like that the prop guards keep it from flipping on contact, and it just bumps and keeps flying.

I got the Neo with goggles and RC. I'm having fun.
I needed an open spot to try it in acro mode first time so today I flew it at our local park. I lost it twice. All those fall leaves made it really tough! The second time I couldn't find it, so hooked my goggles to my tablet with DJI Fly on it. Took me right to it. Whew!
Prediction: The Neo 2 will have optical avoidance, more powerful motors, weigh 249 grams, and cost $500.
I love the goggles 3 with my Mini 4 and Air 3. Feels so natural!

Since you mentioned Tello. In TelloFpv app it even got RTH. And since in app only Neo conts how far and how high it flies from start point why it cannot go back?

Looks like DJI are watching your awesome videos... The controls on the phone are finally available on the horizontal mode and they came up with a cheaper goggle for beginners who don't want to invest too much money. I like your idea to make a DJI Neo Pro... A little bit heavier but still under the 250 g limit with a better camera and better accro performance. Like the Pavo 20 Pro.
