In this video I go over several Early Game Fortnite tips that will have you winning off spawn much more often. Early game is super important in Fortnite obviously as if you can't make it off spawn you can't really do much else. Let me know a question you have about Fortnite Zero Build down in the comments below!

Use Code EvolveJake in the Fortnite item shop :)

1: Do not use easy detectable skins or gliders
2: Don‘t use car skins (you can do surprise attacks sitting in standard cars)
3: Know your landing spot inside-out, so you can loot it as fast as possible
4: learn to optimize glide/fall from the bus so to reach the chosen spot first (as described in the video)
5: pick any weapon as fast as possible, then fill up shields as fast as possible -> this helps to get some early easy kills against stronger enemies

i would love a video about when to engage/stay in fights and when to avoid/leave them. even though its a bit obvious i die so often because i leave fights too late or underestimate my opponent in some way, so some systematic overview on that topic would be great

I knew the distance was measured to the highest point which is why I always aim for a ravine or water, even if it’s out of my way, but I’ve never noticed the symbol next to the mini map. Always teaching us somethin. ❤

-people should be smart picking gliders that aren't huge and noisy. sometimes i don't see these players but i can hear them.

I play squads, mostly fills because I dont have a lot of friends who play. I tend to play back and not rush into every fight, to assess positioning, but wonder if theres a better way. Most people just rush in to 4 other players and it doesnt go well. So I'd love a "squad tips" video.

The part like 5 min in about people wanting exact numbers speaks to the larger problem of the focus on perfection and how that impacts the mental. The more you try to make everything perfect, the more frustrating it will be when perfection goes south. It's like being a parent being a good player doesn't mean being perfect. :)

Your tips are so on point. Your videos are my strategy guide. The only reason I'm not better at the game is not remembering to do(or not do) something you most likely already covered. I never played a BR game until this so I was rough around the edges but I am still improving thanks to you(and practicing of course). Thanks🙌

Love your videos. I have started enjoying Fortnite (not dying cheaply & even getting Vic Roys) so much more after incorporating all your tips & cautions into my gameplay.

Hi Jake, one question that I have for you is how do practice the pickaxe trick. I know how to do it but I can’t find any way to practice it.

Love the videos bro! Guilty sword dropper in Masked Meadows here lol never again. I’ll switch to the rooftop area and elemental chest now. I learn numerous things from each of your vids as a less than one year player of the game and today I was actually thinking about the glider lock because I didn’t know it was affected by water level/mountain level etc. I got locked and was floating toward my POI when someone ahead of me dropped lower than I was before locking and I was soooo confused. I’ve also previously implemented destroying tables and cabinets holding chests and ammo but hadn’t thought of the floor to drop down to a lower level at the same time. It’s the small things for sure. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!

Jake! I finally tried Team Rumble, and I'm loving the mode and the practice. (I know you've only been advocating that we try it forever, but I'm stubborn.) Thanks for the recommendation, and GGs!

When trying to get that perfect landing, it's better to overshoot and need to hover down, than to under shoot and need to run into the POI from outside of it.

i also never opened ammo boxes prior to chapter6.
but this chapter i struggle so much to get AR-ammo.
even i eliminate opponents they often only drop like 10 bullets or something.
so i started to take time now to open all the ammo boxes off spawn cuz even if i get some elims during the match,
i often ended up with like 80 AR-ammo in the endgame if didnt loot ammo boxes earlygame

This is a minor thing but it would be nice to have tips on how to land well on the floating island this Chapter. Jake, you always land so smooth, and I’m always flailing around in the wind like a rag doll, hitting updrafts and basically flying around not being able to land reliably. Using the mask is ideal but if you don’t have one, how to you land up there without excessive hang time?

Here is a question I asked in a previous video: Do you have any tips & tricks for close-mid range combat in terms of strafing, jumping, and crouching to avoid fire and also things to avoid that can make you an easier target as you are moving and nearby cover isn't an option (for example enemy was hiding and got the jump on you). I find myself jumping too much sometimes and feels like its easier for enemies to kill me than if I just focused more on strafing and crouching but not sure how much is too much (or too little). At the same time I feel if I don't move enough and focus more on shooting it just makes me an easier target as well.

I've got too much of the Halo strafing/jumping ingrained in me which really works in that game but don't think it translates to Fortnite as well for a 3rd person shooter.
