That type of kindness is very rare these days. Great story. Since he wants to get into mountain biking I'd give that man a bike for his help with the glasses! LOL

Kudos Anthony!
Edit to add: Watching the news or social media you could think our country is in deep trouble. While we certainly do have issues, there are SO MANY good people out there. Regardless of where you sit, we are all in this life together. And good people outnumber the others.

Many, many kudos to "Georgia Man, " Anthony and his wife!!! They restore my faith in humanity, and especially in the Georgia version.
So glad you and your buddy met this great guy and his wife.
What a blessing.
Help people, and try to always be prepared and carry what you might need...
That's great advice.
And thank you for having the humility to admit when you didn't do things perfectly, so others can learn from when you wished you had some things better.
We all need to help each other out whenever we can.
It could change the world.

My buddy had a dehydration case today. All went well.
Always have plenty of water with you and also be Anthony. We need more Anthony’s in this world

Great cautionary tale about the importance of proper hydration because even extremely fit individuals such as yourself can fall victim to this condition. I have made that exact climb up Bull in the CCW direction and it’s tough so I know exactly what you went through. Glad to hear a good samaritan saved your day/life.

Glad you're okay. It's easier to get dehydrated and heat exhaustion as we get older. Keep that in mind. Kudos to Anthony!

Been there and it is no fun - luckily I was about 10 miles from home on a long road ride. Stopped at a convenience store and bought a couple of sports drinks and took a break and then made it home. I had not ran out of water, but I had not hydrated enough before the ride. Glad it worked out ok - you had a Good Samaritan that day. Take care and lessons learned.

Dag gone Clint, man that was the limit man, I'm glad it wasn't deadly. My cousin just got out of the hospital because he got too hot. His kidneys nearly shut down, they put him on dialysis, he almost died. I work in it and am used to the heat and it was at my limit. I cut hay with a open tractor during those 108 days. The radiator was blowing about 150 on me. The way I survived was I kept my bandana wet around my neck and I drink a gallon of green tea plus about a half gallon of water between 4am and 8am every morning then I keep the fluids going all day when it's hot like it's been. The key is keep it going down because when I got in trouble years ago it came on me fast. Please be careful out there, the older we get the rougher the heat affects or effects us. You push very hard and that with heat indexes above 100 is not a good combination. Love you brother and take care of yourself.

Heat injury is no joke! Rarely it can be fatal. When you start to feel light headed and nausea, you’re in trouble. I ran into this in May on my longest ride of the year on the hottest day of the year! You probably needed paramedics more than you needed someone to change your tire. I was sitting on the curb and a couple that lived near by stopped and asked if I was okay. They brought me a bag of ice, water and Gatorade and towels to soak in the ice water to cool me down. After drinking all that I could, wrapping myself in cold towels and pouring the remainder of the ice water over my head, I slowly finished the last 10 miles of my ride. Without this couple my next option was 911! On extremely hot days it’s almost impossible to replace fluid loss when you’re working hard! I will certainly limit my activity during heat waves!

wow man what an incredible story! A good reminder for me to bring extra extra water. My wife is actually really good with this stuff, she keeps some emergency water packs in the car and we actually have needed to use them a couple of times.

I bought a used ebike, yt decoy. Having a blast with it. I'm in NY/ Long Island and now we get pretty hot and humid days as well. It's a great tool when I'm off a couple of weeks from riding. I can jump right into it and not die from exhaustion. This while still hitting zone 3 HR. Love it. Stay safe
