Part 3. Yes we're in the new update, on a fresh map, with all new beavers (and the return of some favourites!) for the return of the engineering beavers in Timberborners Season 2! This time I finally solve my engineering beaver's housing crisis by creating super efficient housing in a small footprint!

Hey just so you know, water wheels now slow down water as it passes through them. So the 3 wheels surrounding the still one are slowing the water down enough to where it can't turn the wheel. Stairs don't do anything at all.

Also a good tip, if you want to maximize the flow you can construct levees across the river to force the water into your wheels. Make sure you don't constrict it too much or else you'll flood the place. Cheers!

RCE had such a nice holiday that he decided to be charitable and give the beavers a home, Charles dickens would be proud

I think the "cms" in the water wheel description is a flow rate and means "cubic meter per second". A small water wheel therefore produces 40 beaver power per every cubic-meter-per-second water flow running through it.

build a true hydroelectric power station, with a dam and all the water flowing through the same spot, with one or to water wheels. With this technique and two large water wheels I produce 2000 hp (or beaver power as you call it)

That shift from the computer to IRL, then back to the game was immaculate. I love it.

The unemployed beavers will automatically be the first beavers who migrate. This will make it much easier to send specific beavers to be shamed

I was so inspired that I started this map myself. It’s uhm, something else. I may have leveled and used explosive on a quarter of the map to create a swamp, built beautiful bridges from steel platforms and created a massive reservoir high on the hill with massive water wheels all over.

Excited to see you play this!!

In stead of having your builders waste time digging out all the trunks you want demolished, you can place paths over them, and then delete the paths. Instant stump removal at no cost.

That edit at 9:20 where you pull from the screen to show your office and the dog is amazing!

You dont always have to create new districts when something is out of range, you can just relocate ur starting district to make sure it covers the ruins. All the buildings up north like the science centers and the forester will still be in range even if you relocate the district to be right next to the river!

EDIT: You relocate by just destroying the district center and placing it again, however if theres multiple centers, once u destroy one, any beaver thats was a part of it will move to the next closest district and ull have to move them back manually. but early on if u only have 1 district u can just move it freely as much as you want without worrying about that.

big brain move.
1) make a "storage" on last tile your district can reach.
2) fill it with goods you need.
3) disconnect and connect to other district.
4) empty the storage to another district.
5) repeat.

Hey RCE, instead of creating a new district you could move the existing one to a more central location thereby covering both sides of the river

For the industrial log piles, I usually stack them on top of each other with each layer rotated 90 degrees and use stairs and platforms to make a spiral staircase around the outside of the stack. Just an idea for a more efficient layout than spreading the piles out.

New Timberborners! Yay! I hit the like button before I even watched it, it's just that good.

Also, RCE, if you're planning ahead for that pit-of-infinite-scrap, don't forget to harvest from the trees now, that way you're ready to make the shiny planks when you can.

I bought Timberborn after watching Season 1 of Timberborners. It is not as easy as you make it look, lol, but I finally got to a point where I started a second district and am starting to get scrap metal.

A neat trick I like to use to make sure that all jobs are covered is to pause a hauling post for a few seconds, let them trickle into other jobs, then unpause it. It's a pretty foolproof way to catch any empty jobs.

In my second district with about 50 beavers, about half of them are powering plank and gear production. Slave labor is amazing

Don’t worry about the architect moment, it happens to the best of us engineers (I once oiled a squeaky door so I am also an engineer).
We must fight the architectural plague.

using the limits, you can decide how many materials are sent to the other districts and if you wanted to go a step further, you can specialize your warehouses so you can have one for just carrots or berries and another for planks and gears. it will help prevent resources from being overloaded and carrots from overloading everything
