Hey there Pete -- Thanks so much for putting out this video -- I enjoyed your commentary immensely. So glad you enjoy playing this game. Congrats on making it to the spider level. FWIW, I always found it difficult to progress beyond the spiderwebs. I think I've only got to the "Great Diamond" once.. Here's a tip... Brian will walk through the webs with no impediment (whereas Dan takes a few milliseconds to bust through), also, Brian will not backtrack (unless he is in a dead end)... so you can often trail behind Brian and let him do the hard work of busting through the webs.
I look forward to watching more of your Atari game videos...
Sincerely - Simon Hunt.

I had endless fun with this game. It was very challenging and varied, its caverns were enchanting and mysterious, and it was great to have an ultimate goal. The best thing about this game, of course, is the music which remains catchy and bouncy 35 years later. Simon Hunt really ought to bring this game (and Diamonds) back to modern digital platforms.

I loved this game for its challenging mazes and its catchy music. It's always stuck in my head all these years. In fact...Just this evening, I was watching a BBC documentary on Bach, and this piece of music appeared. Wow! It's funny how so much of my classical music education comes from cartoons and early computer games.

I think those of us who try to play games while our pets want attention deserve some kind of extra credit, like a special records listing or those old Activision patches or something. I'm constantly stuck having to not only play challenging games, but doing so while my dogs are jumping around and my cats are begging for treats. "Yeah, beating Dark Souls is fine, but did you do it with a 45 pound dog on your lap licking your face?"

Looks like a simple concept, but done well. Which is really the important part of it. It certainly felt tense, especially with the introduction of those doors and spider webs. Yikes!

When I was a kid, my friend had an Atari computer but I don't know which one. He had Ballblazer, Bruce Lee, Realm of Impossibility (which I absolutely loved!) and a text adventure called Asylum. That's my hazy memory of Atari from the late 80s/early 90s ;) Meanwhile I had a NES, my school had a BBC Micro, my cousin had a C64, my best friend had a Spectrum and my other best friend had an Amstrad and a Master System. So all bases covered really haha...
