When I was in elementary school I would rent this book from the library, all the kids did. It was almost bragging rights to be the one who had it in grade 2, but many of the popups were damaged or missing. Nice to see the parts I missed as a child. I am now 44, and still think about that book which is how I stumbled on this video.

I loved reading this book when I was 6 years old (Late 2005-Late 2006). I have random memories with this book as this was the book where I first learned the words "appetite", "maybe" (1:05) and "can't" (2:10). At 1:05, I was instructed by my family to "open" the cupboards and that was when I first learned the word "open". At 1:58, when I opened the oven, my cousins told me it was the spaghetti monster and this was the first time I knew what "spaghetti" was.

My mother bought me this when I was at primary school forty years ago. I took it into school, I was so proud of it. It was fantastic. I think I broke the "skeleton" - playing too rough - and we gave it away to one of my mother's friend's children. I regret it now! But seeing it here brings back happy memories.
