are you sure the first quadrant is positive X and positive y? I thought it was positive X and negative y?

Use the formula f(x, y)=(2.5*sign(x*y)-sign(x)-.5)*sign(x*y) to find in which quadrant the point (x, y) lies.
If lies on an axis the result is 0. ex.f(3, 9)=1 f(-7, 5)=2 f(-4, -8)=3 f(2, -3)=4 f(0, -7)=0 f(-3, 0)=0
