Wow that seems a pretty chilled night at Jalan Alor ladies. Coz when we were there it was like total chaos as in way too crowdy and hardly had any space even to walk through the road! But we did have fun eating our way through it. Omg Mango Sticky Rice! My fav and glad you guys finally tried it😉

The one you had in @8:36 is called bakkwa which is a kind of jerky-liked, sweet and savoury dried meat (usually pork or chicken). It was a popular item during Chinese new year in Malaysia and Singapore. The mushroom was not the shitake variety but enoki mushroom.

That fried thingy with tentacles, it's called "enoki mushroom" or in malay "cendawan jarum emas"

Hey. You guys can visit the night market at the Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman, near Jalan TAR on every Saturday night for some of the good Malay food. The place is accessible from Masjid Jamek LRT station.
