Just a warning to those who can’t handle spicy food, ayam merah is very spicy and most in Malaysia don’t use tomato but chilli for it. It’s basically chicken in dried chilli sambal here. ☺️

Editing to reply because there are too many:
1. The reason I’m calling it ayam merah is because I learned it from Che Nom’s video. She used dried chilli in her recipe so, that is what I knew of. Also all of the ayam merah I’ve eaten in my life from where I came from are spicy. Yes, they are sweet as well but spicy. Never was it only sweet.
2. To those who are comparing Malaysian and Indonesian food by putting one down, stop. You are stooping low. I love both cuisines. Both taste amazing. I have no idea why the need for comparison instead of enjoying both.
3. Lastly, to some comments that irked me a little. So what if your spicy tolerance is good? What are you looking for by commenting that? Praise? Compliments? Then congratulations. I hope you are happy and also realise that it doesn’t make you any better than anyone else.
