2023 RX How-To: Disable Driver Monitor Alert Tutorial

In this video, Alex teaches us how to disable the Driver Monitor alert for guests who do not want to use this feature.

You're just disabling the alerts. The camera is still looking at you. I was lied to - I was told I could turn the camera off (because its super creepy). Also, it doesn't work for me anyway (because I'm short). It kept telling me to 'sit up and look ahead" when I was! I wouldn't have purchased this car had I known there was a creepy camera looking at me all the time with no way to turn it off.

Also, the park assist technology on the 2023 premium plus version is significantly worse than the 2013 version. And I don't have, and can't get a visual weather map on my screen (although I had it in my 2013) which makes it hard to monitor for hail in the area (I loved that feature - good to protect the car), the 'lane assist' will push you around on the road if your swinging a bit out of your lane to avoid someone who's stopped on the side of the road or if there is construction in the road and they want you to move over - it'll try to force you back into what it thinks is your "lane" ! You have to hold onto the steering wheel tight and firm to maintain the safest place in these circumstances like you're wrestling control from it. Also, they got rid of the driver's left hand cup holder!!! WHY Lexus?! So, after owning a 2013 Lexus 350 for 10 years and really liking it, I hate the 2023 and won't likely keep this for a long time. Such a crying shame.

I turned mine off however I still get “driver monitor unavailable” pop up if I drive with my hand at the 12 o clock position. Is there away to get rid of that notification?

Did this in a new gx550 and it continues to tell the driver, the driver monitor is unavailable check owners manual is there any way to stop that as well!!? Please help work for a Lexus dealership as well

Hi, can demonstrate video how to activate road assist for example when we drive close to speed camera, accident area or over speed limit the car will alert or make sound telling the driver.

Would you still trigger that “Driver Monitor Unavailable. Please see the Owners Manual.” if you turn it off? Also if you leave it on, does it have issue when wearing polarized glasses (prescription driving or sunglasses).

I did that and it did stop two of the notifications but I’m still getting constantly the Driver Monitor Unavailable See Owner’s Manual prompt on my dashboard.

Hello, I am writing to you from Turkey, I have a 2023 Lexus RX 450H+. My car reads speed signs and beeps when it exceeds the speed limit. I haven't found this to always stay in the off state. After turning off the speed limit warning in the settings, when I turn off the vehicle and turn it on again, it automatically turns on again. Do you know how I can turn it off completely at once? It really bothers me while driving. Thanks

Does that have to be disabled everytime you restart the car or once you turn it off it will always be off?

Hello Alex. I bought a Lexus NX 2022 from a copart auction. The user profile of the previous owner was written on it and I accidentally logged out of the account. It asks me for a password, but I don’t know it. And the multimedia doesn’t respond to anything. What do you recommend? .how to fix this. The local dealership said that there is nothing they can do to help.

Maybe you can help me here? I did this and now every time it is block d by my 12 o’clock wheel hold g, or I look away it puts up a message on the dash that states, “driver monitoring system unavailable seek dealer and manual reference”. Why am I seeing this message every time it is blocked if I deliberately turned it off as seen in this vid? Please advise I have no idea why this is happening and if it’s just redundant reminder that it’s off as is Lexus fashion, or if there is all of a sudden an issue because it’s off and something is wrong that I need to fix or be concerned about.
