Rumor has it that the state of Arkansas has ordered 11 of these just for Trooper Byrd.

The vehicle peaked with the 2020 AWD v8. Those things absolutely shredded all the way to 150.
Unfortunately police cars will never be the same again in the coming years.

Dodge actually had a post facelift Hemi AWD available in Pursuit models. I believe it was available until 2018.

I've seen dashcam videos of the Charger V8 easily topping 150 mph. I've also watched videos that would compared the Charger V6 AWD to the Explorer 3.3 HEV. The Charger V6 AWD has a better high speed passing time and can reach its top speed of 130 faster than the Explorer 3.3 HEV.
The Charger 5.7 will be the last true American police interceptor. A full-sized sedan powered by a V8 engine with RWD that is loud and fast and is able to keep up with almost any vehicle out there.

I had a retired 76 Rhode Island State Police Plymouth Gran Fury (440 Interceptor with a Dana rear end) back in high school. I wish I still had that.

The AWD 5.7 liter HEMI V8 model is the one to get when buying a used one. Dodge stopped producing them in 2020 and went to just the V6 being available in AWD. I’ve seen some nice low mileage Chargers that were Detective or Lieutenant cars and weren’t abused that people have purchased. But with the cancellation of the AWD HEMI option and the cancellation of the Charger overall the prices will likely go up.

Well, either Dodge changed a few things or they are lying about those numbers. I can say that watching Arkansas State Police chases, their V8 Chargers have no trouble sitting at 150 MPH, and their V6 Chargers struggle to get to 130. And I know some of their Tahoes have gone 135....Tricky tricky....

Im from Bridgeport and was a police explorer. They have had the charger since Dodge came out with the pursuit version. Getting to be up close and personal with those is what made me fall in love with mopar. Now I own a 71’ charger R/T, a JK Wrangler, and a Gladiator.

Thank you for including my city in the video. I never really realized why I had an obsession with Mopar until now. 😅

It's got a cop motor, a four hundred and forty cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say? Is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Fix the lighter.

They have durango pursuit as well. They should have the AWD V8 Hemi that would be a monster.

The market desperately needs more police vehicles

California CHP uses the Charger. The San Ramon PD that is on your list uses them, but they look like factory cars with light bars. They even have factory aluminium rims.

Everyone is gonna ignore the fact that it can come with a 12 inch screen radio 🤯🤯

The North Carolina State Troopers use them as well.

Lets talk about how these Chargers and Challengers still have the worst rear camera screen package unlike the Wagoner and Ram trucks. They need to upgrade this. I work for a Chrysler dealer as a tech and there is nothing worse than a brand new car with a 480p camera lol
