To enable Wirelese Android Auto on the Settings:
Open Android Auto app, open the Settings, then go all the way down to "Version". Then tap the word "Version" 10 times simultaneously, until you see "Allow development settings?" then just tap OK. Then on your screen under the Settings, you will see 3 dots on the upper right corner, tap on that, then select Developer Settings, then enable "Add wireless projection to settings".
Then go back to Settings, then turn on "Wireless Android Auto".

To connect Android Auto via USB data cable, watch this video:

Here's how to quickly launch Wireless Android Auto upon entering/starting your car on (Just one tap on your Android head unit).

You might want to explain at the beginning (and in the vid subject name) that you are using a non-car manufacturer head unit to do this!!
Most people do not replace their infotainment units with 3rd party units making this video useless to 99% of us!

Thanks for the video! One question. Will the internet still work when mobile connects to the head unit's wifi hotspot. Because my head unit does not have a sim card. Only phone has internet connection.

I feel like by the time you do all this and get it working and then dealing with the battery drain you will get on the phone you might as well just plug the phone into the headunit.

Great tutorial on how to set this up! Thank you for sharing! I was struggling a little bit but looked online for instructions and found your video. I followed your instructions and got it up and running in no time!

If you found this comment, try this.

Open Android Auto, Settings, Scroll to version and tap until popup developer mode. Press three dot on upper right and start server or something similar like that. Then hotspot your phone to car. Open headunit reloaded then wifi. Now you can use with internet.

Thank you, I have a LG Stylo6 that doesn't stay connected to my android head unit. Now all I have to do is open HUR and its all good. These other people must not do any programing or trying to make their cheap units better. Now if i could figure out how to get the Sub out rca to work all would be great in the world. Keep up the good work

This is a good work around for 3rd party head units. With android 11 coming to all soon, I'd rather wait.

Is that a DIY head unit? This tutorial is not applicable for cars with built in android auto.
