HEY I HAVE THE SAME LIGHT!!! Wasn't a fan of it on the 12g long, I have it on my gecko tank now lmaoo, I like your review:) and yeah I didnt like the plastic part either and yeah I def got a alge issue with it

Ok I bought one of these too.
Lighting is the most under discussed topic but never in detail. We have lumens, watts, colors, Kelvin. What are all of these things?


All I know is this light works like a charm for me. I am using it in a vivarium (using it for aquatic and semiaquatic) type plants and it is working well. My reds are turning extremely red, purples are purple, it is turning everything the colors I dreamed of. Ive had strikouts with bulbs, multiple leds, this thing is working well.

That thing packs a lot more punch than I would have thought, the moss is looking real nice

The sepereation in the power cable is for inline timers. Mines set up this way to add sun rise/set functions and auto on and off. Can also control brightness. Check Amazon my dude for inline timers.

I have the freshwater version. I thought I was getting the planted one, but it still has really good spectrum.

I like this setup. Dirt and a bright light. I feel the light is bright because you are growing wild Florida plants.
