It's ridiculous. I never had a game that became unplayable for days because of a patch. EA is a big, rich company and constantly delivers half finished products. Why can Giants, a small company, make a perfect Farming Simulator which runs smoothly with very few bugs? I ran MS FSX for years with very few crashes. I love The Sims but it's unacceptable to just disable the game for all your customers for days while you use them as testers!

I think it's messed up that ea just rolls out unfinished software and uses players to test it instead of hiring actual testers. This isn't a one time issue, they do this on purpose. I'm really afraid that this is becoming industry standard

As an OG sims player (have been playing for over 15 years) I can’t believe what they have done to this series. It’s legitimately shameful. Why can’t we have lore again and fun features instead of these expensive packs?

The sibling thing reminds me that currently I’m getting an issue where my sims partner will call them saying ‘I have a crush on (some random person) should I ask them out?’ Like.. it’s so weird. Not a huge deal like the other bug I’ve talked about in the comments before but it’s still annoying.

I got a major scare with my sims after the update. First, my sim’s needs were lagging like crazy, they showed up green even when they were very low, or showed yellow all the time… and then my teen sim (my only heir for my next generation) suddenly “died of starvation” when their hunger bar was at half 30 irl seconds ago. Thankfully I hadn’t saved in like 20 minutes, so I got the sim back, but it’s horrible that an update can release when it’s so buggy

I feel bad for the employees doing the code work. There must be tons of problems with the code over the years and they do their best to make things work but they aren’t given enough time to figure these things out.

It’s so absurd. A million dollar company releases a half-ass game, & half-ass game packs that everyone at this point EXPECTS to have it majorly impact their cc, mods, and gameplay. First, I cannot use or change any skin tones. Then, I cannot change any color swatches, or facial feature items. I fix that by deleting my “more columns” mod. Oh yay! Finally I can play the sims! Oh wait never mind, I can’t place doors or even have them in the first place. I fix it tediously by replacing all my document folders. Yay! I fixed it! I can finally play the sims! Oh wait never mind, my sims won’t fucking age. Hmm, I’ll just restart the game. I can finally play the sims! Oh wait, never mind. My sims keep going bald each time I load into the game. Oh, now I can’t load into the game at all anymore. *reinstalls the game completely moving all my mods and cc* YES! IT WILL FINALLY WORK! Oh wait never mind, the whole time it was fucking sims 4’s fault.

This happens ever. single. time. I know that every time there's a big pack coming out I'm not going to be able to play for days. If EA would let Maxis focus on fixing the stuff that's already out instead of churning out new shit, this wouldn't be such an issue. Instead, they have that bug fix team that works on a 'laundry list' of the worst/most common bugs but it's clearly more of a PR thing for them to go 'see look we're fixing things!' (too little too late after ignoring us for 5 years) I'll be glad when they move on to the Sims 5 or whatever and stop messing with this game so much so I can actually PLAY it without having my game ruined by new content EA is forcing on me every few months (especially since I use mods, which are pretty much necessary to make the game worth playing).

Shout out to all the players who always update their games right away. Yall are the real MVPs because I'm not about to risk my game being unplayable due to bugs and without you people like me would not know when it is safe to update. Without you these bugs would take much longer to be found, and subsequently longer to be fixed. ( eventhough the developers still take their time fixing most of the bugs) I honestly do appreciate you guys

It's insane to me that they STILL, 8 years into this games overdue lifespan, break the game so bad with each and every update. At this point, I just have to EA hates cc creators because they know they could never make things as good as they do. They're mad cc creators make they're packs obsolete. They put them and us through hell trying to fix their mistake, no, sabotage. I'm tired of it. EA and the Sims team need to do better, or just start over completely. This routine is getting stale.

A weird glitch I experienced was related to a coffee table.

My sims’ tv was sitting on top of their coffee table, which was a light wood color before the update. Next time I played after the update, the coffee table looked all abstract and colorful and when I looked closer it was the same as the skin from a pile of laundry. Only way I could ‘fix’ it was to change the swatch color of the coffee table to something else. If I tried to put it back to the original swatch I was using, it looked like laundry again.

I had a Sim want to have the ghost of her adoptive father be her boyfriend as a whim. I was so confused. Especially since I normally keep the tombstones in my Sims’ inventories just so that way the ghosts don’t appear and mess with my house.

My sims would randomly age up from teen an adult. My game was on long lifespan but as soon 4 sim days went by my teen sim ages up really fast all the way to adult. It messed up my storyline to the point where I just deleted the save.

OMG! When I downloaded the update something inside of me said: "Better wait a few days, then I'll resume my save". Good thing I trusted my gut

Not surprising that the sims suddenly want to be in a relationship with their siblings when the toddler liking their parent glitch is still floating around unfixed. It's been said to be fixed but I had a few of my friends start playing the sims just a few days ago and just a few days into getting it, one of them sends a screenshot showing a toddler showing a romantic interest bit for their mother in their profile. Honestly, I'm just tired, these glitches should've been gone YEARS ago and I don't know how they expect new packs to function in the game when it's already on a broken foundation.

I think what's bad, is that some game changers DID experience the glitches and reported them, and yet they still released the patch on time without fixing it...how do they think that is okay. Why even bother releasing it, and then immediately making an emergency patch. What's the point? Just fucking delay it and send it out working the first time

Remember when the Sims came completely finished on CD and we could have a blast with like 80 bucks of expansions? It's like a grand now with the full game and basic features with the base game disable with the new expansions because the devs are probably short staffed and overworked. EA is full of shi.
