Gen 4 is way to go, it’s almost the same price as Gen 3 but much much cheaper than Gen 5, it just makes most sense

So gen 3 for large storage, and gen 4 for OS and things more affected by speed, while gen 5 is a waste of money currently.

It doesn't matter for gaming. If you're a content creator or work in video editing with a ton of file swaps from one drive to another, it will help you out. But gaming? Nah.

Test mid game loadings, like a new area loading etc, since PS5 uses PCIE 4.0 at 5000MB/s there should be a difference on PC as well, i'm pretty sure PCIE 3.0 will cause way more stuttering.
An example i noticed, Evil West on the PS5, there is no stuttering loading new areas, while on my Crucial P3 (PCIE 3.0) it does. It could just be the PC version tho, but worth testing.

Note: if data are compressed, then it is lightning fast to read it into memory and painfully slow to decompress and parse. That is when load times are really close to each other. If data is not compressed much, then load times differ a lot more.
