I've used the Sawyer Mini for many years and hundreds of miles of backpacking while training Scouts for the Backpacking Merit Badge. I've used the Cnoc Outdoors soft water bags for most of those trips....red for dirty and blue for clean....but then had to transfer the filtered water to my Nalgenes. With these adapters, now the setup can go direct to my water bottle for certain applications. Also, the option of using my 2 QT soft military canteen opens all kinds of new doors. Great to see you pulling in gear from the hikers. Plenty of that stuff is perfectly suited for use in survival / bush crafting activities. There's hardly a long distance hiker, or for that matter, an overnighter or weekender, on the Pacific Crest Trail that doesn't have a Sawyer, for example. Literally thousands of people every weekend all summer long using their Sawyers on just one trail speaks volumes of the utility of this device.
