I was lucky enough to see Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard a few years ago in London - standing ovation mid-show at this, her performance was phenomenal, and flawless! Absolutely one of my all time favourite memories! I wish they'd show the full show so everyone can experience this song in context!

Without a doubt, Glenn Close is the most wronged actress in the history of cinema. Total lack of respect, consideration and humanity the Academy of Oscars never gave her a statuette. An extremely talented, unique, special, competent, deserving, magnanimous actress ... who unfortunately never had the recognition she truly deserves. It was already for Glenn Close to have at least 3 Oscars. I hope that justice will finally be done at the Oscar 2021 with her interpretation of the film Hilbilly Elegy. I hope Netflix will make a heavy and strong campaign. The Academy will never be able to correct all the regrettable injustices that Glenn Close suffered throughout his career. This movie star cannot die without winning an Oscar. Let the entire voting public have a minimum of compassion and empathy. God bless Glenn Close. Justice for Glenn Close! 🥇👑

Saw Glenn Close in the Broadway revival several years one week before lt was to close. I had never seen the show but the audience was full of devotees. Standing ovations at each of Norma’s signature moments. The finale brought tears and prolonged loud applause. I had tears and goose bumps. After the show my partner and I ran into one of the musicians at the street corner. I complemented her on the performance, and she said the audience was one of the best during the entire run: respectful of the performers, enthusiastic at the appropriate times, and completely in love with the show. She said people don’t realize how important the audience is for the success or failure of each individual performance. Glad I was there to be a part of it.

Glenn Close really made Sunset Boulevard come to life for me. Her range and acting really fit the gravitas of a golden age actress coming back to a space that she considers home but everyone else has rendered irrelevant. It would be awesome if she reprised this role again. She’d bring a new energy to Norma!
