Kathy Staff (born Minnie Higginbottom; 12 July 1928 – 13 December 2008) was an English actress known for her work on British television. She is best known for her portrayal of Nora Batty in Last of the Summer Wine, the longest running sitcom in the world.

Every actor/actress who played in Last of The Summer Wine was a genuine time served performer who used their hard earned years of experience learning their trade in the music halls and in minor local parts, they did not have to rely on foul mouthed language or rude insults to be noticed, their acting spoke volumes and planted in everyone's memory how great British actors/actresses were, from the beginning to the end of every show each line and morsel was a treat to listen to and watch, all will be sadly missed, thank goodness for repeats to remind us all that has been lost!

I used to love watching the last of the summer wine as a kid. All the characters were/are amazing.. you can’t forget a name like Nora batty she portrayed her character beautifully. Rightfully so thank you very much lovely lady❤️

❤❤ I have met kahy staffs on quite a few occasions and she was a very warm and kind and caring person. I loved her in the things that she was in. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
