Sony a7R II vs a7S vs GH4 rolling shutter comparisons

A quick test to compare real world rolling shutter performance of the Sony a7R II in 4K S35 and Full Frame modes, Vs the Sony a7S and Panasonic GH4.

Obviously you would never actually shoot this way but it makes for an interesting comparison.

The test is done using different lenses, filters and exposures and only for rolling shutter comparison, not image quality.

Simple idea for camera producers: if rolling shutter apper on horizontal
panning which is more far more used than verical camera movement, why
not turn sensor scanning/shutter 90 degree. Rolling effect would apperar
on vertical movement, so in practice it would be much much less
prevelant. How no one implement this simple trick till now?

hey, is there a reason it's done at 1/50 does it get less rolling the higher shutter speed

Why S35 mode is worse than Full frame ? Full frame uses wider area of CMOS than S35.

they said they fix the rolling shutter, and I paid the deposit because of that. that's a lie.

OK so the A7RII has less rolling then the A7S, but I really couldn't tell with the GH4, it looked the same to me.

No way ! These things should just be avoided, by any means... Just not easy.
