How to make Palmiers (easiest pastry ever)

Just arrived in France and No better way to adjust to making recipes again than with the help of some family members :0)
My aunt loves to bake the easy way and today she is showing me how to make Palmiers, the easiest pastry treat ever!

Ingredients:
1 roll pre-made good quality puff pastry (250 grams)
granulated sugar (80 grams)

Cooking time:
10 minutes in the oven at 240 Celsius ( 464 F)

Notes: cut the pastry in pieces

In this video, I get a hand from my aunt to make this delicious pastry. Also called ‘coeur de France’ because of their heart shape. Literally just puff pastry and sugar (ok, quite a lot of sugar), it could be the most simple pastry you ever make - but the result is divine.

Palmiers are made from puff pastry, a laminated dough similar to the dough used for croissant, but without the yeast. Puff pastry is made with alternating layers of dough and butter, rolled and folded over to create possibly hundreds of flaky layers.

I really enjoy the kind of French patisserie you are teaching us, but what's even better is the easy way, yet professional you show us :)

My favorite pastry treat ... I never knew they were so easy to make (especially if you use ready made pastry).  Thanks! I'll try this weekend  (and thanks to your 'special guest star', too!)

Thanks to your auntie for sharing her recipe. I looked up the region that you are in. Hope you will continue to share some blogs to show us the landscape and culture. It looks lovely there.

Bonjour Stéphane, il est bon de te voir sur la route de nouveau. Merci pour la petite gâterie! Puisque tu es dans les Pyrénées, montre-nous un peu de la cuisine basque, s.t.p.

So glad to see you settled again Stephane. These look so easy to try when you see the technique. I could imagine some variation in flavors by lightly brushing on a liquor... almond or amoretto etc. Have to try these.
