Lecture 02 Trip Generation and Trip Distribution

Показать описание
This video provides details of the first two steps of the traditional four-step travel demand model: (1) trip generation; and (2) trip distribution.

Under trip distribution, three methods for estimating the number of trips generated by a specific area or development type are covered. These methods include: (a) trip rates; (b) cross-classification; and (c) regression models.

For trip distribution, the Gravity model is introduced, which is the most commonly applied method for estimating inter- and intra-zonal trips based on travel times.

Wow! Quite detailed. This reminds me of a lecture by Dr. Bill Black ca. 1992 when I was a wee undergraduate. Thank you for posting.

Great that someone in the US finally decided to make a video on transportation planning. I wish you would move slower though otherwise good video.

apologies to say that you have just rushed it off to vlog it ; nowhere you are explaining anything with a reasonable narrative of steps taken; you are skipping steps and process and just talking too fats on number and then next and then next; it is very poor teaching habit and I am sure viewers are lost.
