I really don't think the Strange Brew variant from 1983 is George. It was obviously filmed in present day, in '83 and that's about 27 or 28 years after George was filmed. And the lion does not look old in the Strange Brew variant. Lions typically might live that long but if that was George in 1983 then somehow they managed to take really good care of him and keep him looking youthful. I doubt it though.
