Con Edison Using Manhole Sensors for Safety, Reliability

Con Edison does a lot of its work underground. To access the underground cables and electrical equipment, Con Edison crew members make frequent trips to the 200,000 plus manholes located throughout the city. In this video, you can see how Con Edison is using sensors that detect heat and carbon monoxide in manholes and send a signal indicating that a repair might be in order.
