What I hate most as a Japanese person is not that the main character is black, or that I can't play as a Japanese samurai, but that the false history that ``Yasuke is a legendary samurai'' is being spread.
In fact, AI photos and fictional novels are being circulated on the internet as proof that "Black Samurai Yasuke" existed.
It's common for people to have different interpretations of history, but that doesn't mean it's okay to change history in an obvious way.

But out of all the japanese heroes they could've chosen someone decent like a famous japanese assasin, instead we got a black man to represent the samurai. So much disrespect for japan.

As a Japanese, I can confirm that Yasuke is not even mentioned in the Daimyoki(大名記) which record the names of all samurai and retainers under control, including those who made no notable contributions. Yet, they still declared him a samurai.
Our culture is rich, with many stories and notable figures known only to the Japanese. This game could have been a bridge to share that richness, but instead, they chose to focus on a figure like Yasuke, who is barely known and not mentioned in our historical texts, seemingly to serve their own agendas.
We are already aware that other cultures have started casting black individuals in roles that are traditionally preserved by other countries, seemingly just for propaganda purposes, such as the mermaid and Cleopatra. Now, it seems our culture is not being spared; they are merely using Yasuke to push a specific narrative, which is simply common sense.

Editaron hace poco la Wikipedia para que diga que si fue samurai, eso no es verdad, aqui les van unos hechos para callarle a la boca a los que dicen que si fue Samurai Yasuke en la vida real.
Yasuke no era un Samurai, era un sirviente como un mayordomo, los Samurai eran una clase social no necesariamente una unidad militar, hubo muchos Samurai en la historia que no eran de combate pero el juego lo quiere poner como si hubiera sido un guerrero y un miembro de la nobleza y el no fue ninguna de esas 2 cosas.
El que Wikipedia lo hayan editado en estos dias para que diga que si fue Samurai no lo hace verdad
Estuvo al servicio de un misionero jesuita italiano y se convirtió en paje/sirviente de Nobunaga. Después de que Nobunaga comitiera seppuku durante el incidente de Honno-ji, fue a Nobutada y ahi luchó, pero dejó la espada cuando un vasallo de Akechi se le acercó. Lo enviaron a Nanban-ji y los misioneros jesuitas lo atendieron de sus heridas. Luego, lo mandaron a la India. Estuvo en Japón desde 1579 hasta 1582, nadamas 3 años, ni siquiera fueron 3 años completos fueron 2 años y fraccion, así que no era un samurái entrenado ni pudo haber recibido un entrenamiento adecuado en ese corto periodo de tiempo, es mas nobunaga lo consideraba como un animal y ni hablaba japones, nunca jamas se le dio el rango de samurai.
