Spring Essentials for 2023

Here's 10 spring fashion essentials to add into your current wardrobe to help elevate your spring and summer style!

1. White Tank Tops: Rock them under button-down shirts, under vests, under lightweight jackets or even rock them alone as a shirt. If you wear them alone, make sure you wear some kind of a statement belt to elevate the outfit.

2. Vests: I love wearing vest in the spring and summer! Since it is warmer out, it's a great way to add a layer or some texture to an outfit, without getting too hot. Think of vests as you would your jackets in fall and winter. Try searching Facebook Marketplace for unique vests. I love thrifting for vests!

4. A Straw Hat: You need at least one straw hat for summer! Whether it's a fedora or cowboy hat, definitely pick up a lightweight option for the warmer weather. A hat, like a belt, is another great accessory to complete even the most basic of outfits. I love wearing plain white tank tops, with a vest and a hat in summer!

5. Kimonos: Yes Kimonos! Kimonos, like vests, are another great way to layer over those plain white tank tops. The ones I have are lightweight, flowy, and always have a fun summery print to them. Try searching NewChic for affordable kimonos like the one I'm wearing in this video.

6. Lace Shirts: Lace shirts are the perfect shirt for spring and summer! They're lightweight, allow air flow, you don't need to iron them, and they just look good! You can wear them alone or with a tank top under them. Phix Clothing has a lot of lace shirts!

7. Yellow Lens Sunglasses: I have a few pairs of yellow lens sunglasses and they just scream spring and summer as soon as you add them to an outfit. The color of your sunglasses is a great way to add some spring color to a plain outfit.

8. Loafers: My favorite pair of loafers to wear are the black & white weejuns from G.H.Bass. They are the perfect statement shoe for spring pants and summer shorts outfits. You can rock them sickles, or with a sock for more of a vintage style type of vibe.

9. Necklaces: Make sure you have some go-to necklaces that you can layer together to pair with those printed button-downs and white tanks. I love leaving the top few buttons open of my flowy button downs, and filling in that empty chest space with some layered necklaces!

10: Flowy Button-Down Shirts: These are a must! I started my collection at Marshalls & TJ Maxx. You can find these printed button-down shirts anywhere. Check ASOS, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Amazon, on vacation, thrift stores, YOOX, Phix, literally anywhere! I love wearing them open over plain white tanks tops or with nothing under them but keeping the top few buttons open. If you war them like this make sure you layer on some necklaces!
