I would think if you buy a pattern and choose your own fabrics it would qualify. I think they are referring to buying a kit and assembling it.

Hopefully Etsy updates everything soon. I originally had designed by which was incorrect so I spent a few hours updating each listing to show how I qualified for made by. Several hours later some listings have been changed to made by but others are still saying designed by. Hopefully it all eventually updates. Thanks for a very clear explanation

Hi Kara, thanks for this video. I make Hairbows for my store, I bought the fabric and sew the bow myself, and I bought the barrette clips and attached it to the bow, is that still considered handcrafted?

I paint with pencil and brushes my own illustrations, then I scan them and compose them with my computer to create paper print (or digital download). I work with POD only for large sizes, declared from the beginning, with all the required informations provided. So now, in the details section I have to choose : "someone else did" or I may select "I Did" and simply leave the production partners? I'm really confused.

Unfortunately all my personalized items are still showing designed by. Do you think they’ll fix that?

"Raw materials" is throwing me off big time. I buy a ceramic plate/platter from a store and then I hand paint these pieces to turn them into a guest book (alternative). So in my case, a ceramic plate could be considered like a bead (ie part of the necklace) but, it sounds also like it could be a hand altered item or even a hand assembled item. I'm getting stuck on it. It's all funky to me :)

I don't think 3D printed items (or laser-cut items, cricut-cut items, etc.) that are based on another person's file are against the rules. The final product is made from (raw) materials selected by the seller -- it's not a kit of ready-made pieces that just need to be assembled.

We should be able to do the selection on the Shop Level not the Item level.
AND : Made by scratch from Natural Material is not doable either. You can only choose one.

i buy digital t shirt designs from etsy and then print them on t shirts, so can I still buy those designs and print them or do i need to create my own designs on t shirts ?

Oh boy now looking at my section titles- I have some items that are handmade by me and most items are vintage - section titles mainly start with Vtg…clothing jewelry etc
The handmade said handmade ceramics for example - now those headings should be Ceramics made by Shop seller - and there are not enough characters allowed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Guessing eliminate the Vtg also and handmade

A purchased paper sewing pattern is instructions and templates, not a kit to be assembled. You do not assemble the paper pieces themselves into a paper dress or paper pillow, for example. So I think the finished item would be made by seller, using raw materials and tools.
