Today we have the brand new 2025 BMW iX. After years of this car being on the market with getting a ton of hate for it, I decided to spend some time with it to see if it really deserves the bad wrap.

This is the new BMW iX. This is the m50 version with the 516 HP twin motor drivetrain. This iX has all the Characteristics of the Ultimate Driving Machine and really lives up to the name. Good range of 324 miles makes it an appropriate car to consider for those looking to electrify their driveway.
This has a funny and unique exterior that is one of a kind on the road. This makes its an easy car to spot on the road. The proportions mimic that of the x5 and is similar to it's competitors of this class. The unique styling carries over into the interior where an interesting dash design and a floating center console make for a talking point. The large panoramic moon roof and excess cabin space really make this a comfortable and spacious car for those with families. Great head and leg room in both rows of seats with super comfortable seats could make this a good road trip car.
A few negatives I found with this car is the lack of a front trunk, lack of roof rack mounting points and no possibility for a hitch really limit this for practicality. These things would limit range but not having the option is a negative. The $95,000 price tag is steep, especially with many electric vehicle options being well below that.
Apart from that, great tech, a well put together interior with superior driving characteristics make this a really good BMW. Taking a step back and going beyond the subjective looks and styling portion, this really is a good car that should be on the list of electric cars for those looking.
