In this video I'm sharing a recent experience of mine, which lead me down a road of many thoughts and made me realise a method to spark creativity in your art and possibly to break free from your creative rut.

Hello, I hope I can motivate you to find an activity of your own to free your mind and possibly spark your creativity! Feel free to leave any thoughts through out the video in the comments! I’m curious to know what you think about my thoughts.

With that said, have a good (and maybe creative) week! :)

Whenever I listen to music I automatically start imagining different scenarios about anything. This method works for me very well. By the way I still love your voice.

Absolutely agree, I also find that simply chilling outside in nature with ear plugs in can do wonders in terms of creativity - but still - movement is even more effective.

It makes a lot of sense! I'm still learning to find a distraction for my distractions :) When I want to sit down and draw, my mind can find 101 things to do first that i end up pushing my drawing plans on the side. I agree about calming the brain to get in touch w my creativity. I like my along time at the beach or in the woods, to me it is my way of meditating w nature. I tried drawing w my non dominant hand and it's a lovely exploration. My drawing had more soul than the ones when my ego is awake. I would definitely do more drawing w my left hand or both at the same time!

Totally makes sense, everything seems to be clearer for me when I am out in nature.

Removing yourself from stimuli that double as distractions is a helpful tool many of us forget because engaging with those stimuli can also be our way of protecting ourselves from perceived failure when starting something new.

I totally understand your theory! I just got back from camping, rock climbing, and HIKING at Joshua Tree, CA!! I can definitely see your perspective where when hiking it clears your mind! For me I tend to listen to music and almost make a video in my head kinda like a music video for each song and that inspires and sparks creativity for the next time I go shooting!

This is such a good video! What I've realized is that even just sitting in a train gets me in that creative flow because all it allows me to do is thinking... :D

Hello! Thanks a lot. I've been working on a writing project, and I couldn't quick spark any creativity that surpassed that of my initial outline. Your theory is very insightful; I would have never guessed it. Though, it does corilate with every creative moment (most of them). Thanks a lot! I hope this year is treating you well. Keep up the creativity!

Thanks for this vlog! Your method in sparking creativity made me remember the book, "Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less" by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang. I learned from that book that we have activities that are actually more like "rest" for us and our system. In your case, it's hiking. And that "rest"-ful activity helps us in our creative process when we get back to work. I think mine's freestyle dancing coz I've been dancing since I was young. I'm also a writer by profession, so when I'm in a writer's block, I take a break, choose a good song on my playlist and just let my body flow into dance (away from my desk, of course haha). It's really helpful to do some movement when we're in a creative rut. Best also if it's in nature like your hiking. But unfortunately, the pandemic restricts me from going out and near nature and I miss it so much. Anyway, we make do with what we have. Thanks again for your vlog and keep being creative! :)

Loved this! What good points. Hiking, walking and swimming all do this for me. I also find journaling helpful - once I put down my distractions in writing, I can think new thoughts.

I don't think of myself as particularly creative although I take lots of photos. Regardless, it's great to do something that refreshes your mind and body. Great video. Yours is one of my favorite channels.

Aha! To the park, for the walk! At least it helps to clear some mind and be calm from life distractions! Thank you!
