I have been using the kenwood ts570SG for 21 years it’s also radio made and wasn’t never going to upgrade too the 590SG till about 7 months ago and after one month of using it OmG I’m ready to buy one more and the 890 as well only because of linking them together but overall the 590SG yes it’s pricier than I liked but dam well worth it, , , and it brings a whole lot more to the table. I definitely give it 5 star rating

I Have a ts 2000 Green Display alongside a 590 sg at the moment standard But the 590 is a Beast Radio with the full filter package for it . i love them Both Cracking radios.

When did Kenwood TS530 S came out hands were amazed at the performance and some even dared to say the Kenwood was approaching the ELEcraft K3 receiver performance. This comparison really heated up when knowledgeable hams got their hands on TS-590SG. During that window of this offering there was a lot of whispered amazing appreciation at this radio. I have no sense to think that that perceived quality has gone away now that the radio is mostly on the used market.
The cliquish quality of hams stack with the K3, what's the 590 SG surprised a lot of people.
I still want to own the top of the line big box Ham rig, but I am influenced by CLIQUES also. Kenwood now also offers the big box TS990S which continues the idea that a real ham radio operator cannot single handedly lift and carry has rIgs . The main tuning knob on the national NC 300 radio receiver caused salvation IN the ham world of that time.

Just purchased a used 590S, I have a Yaesu FTdx10 and while the receive is better I get comments on the TX audio from the Kenwood. This is a lot of radio for the money and I just have a weakness for Kenwood build a quality. In truth I'm happy with both - especially as i'm not really a Yaesu man but the latest iteration of radios in terms of use has changed my view. Can't beat a button for every main function though. Love the radio and be happy with just this one and the only mod would be to add waterfall. 73 Mike

Get ready to pay MORE for the desk mic! It looks like Kenwood discontinued the MC-60A and the only desk mic that they still manufacture is the MC-90 (now selling for over $300). 😦😦

There are no radios on his price range with: USB, RS232, RX ant etc etc.. i have linked mine whit a TS-480 as sub receiver and a RDPduo as panadapter.. i love my TS-590sg !

599sg has an rx antenna port, 7300 does not, end of comparison

so many functions, buttons and expensive, im wondering in receiver mode if the FM plays in stereo like a normal tuner with hifi sound.

You say NOTHING about the CW performance...It is an outstanding CW radio, in my experience even better than an Elecraft K3. If you are going to do a review, do it correctly..

Not a very deep review. Also Icom 7300 is not at all hard to use. Very intuitive. That being said both are great radio's.
