Is The Erebus Origin GMT Worth It?

Erebus have released 8 new GMT watches and i've got 2 of them to review!
Are they any good and are they worth buying? Also are they different enough from the origin diver to own both?

Love it! BUT I’d love to see Jody take some risks on the design side.

I'd like to see Jody slow down. Too many watch releases in such a short timeframe in my humble and unqualified opinion. Hold back and put a bit more thought in. Good luck to him though - I certainly wish his business every success.

It's a nice watch that rounds out the Erebus brand. I prefer the color black/black, white/black or blue/blue over the bi-colors.

I loved the white polar GMT so much I purchased it! Not a fan of the jubilee bracelet though, would’ve preferred to have the option of a h link or oyster.

Another great release from Erebus! I do agree with your point around them being specs lead though. They offer fantastic bang for your buck, they tick all the boxes we watch enthusiasts want ticking but it feels like Erebus as a brand maybe lacks a bit of personality or identity. But I love Jody’s channel and I’m glad to see him and Steven doing so well with Erebus 🙌

No thank you! Love Jody and his content, but he is competing with the Lorier Traveler’s GMTs. In the office GMT like this one, competing with the outstanding Seiko 5 Sports GMTs. Only one difference Jody has the Safire glass

Hi Mad, great channel. Well, its almost that worst time of the year for watch enthusiasts. I'm talking of course about the end of DST. Could you produce a video with the proper techniques of setting a watch back. I'm still a novice and am afraid of doing some expensive damage to a nice watch. For instance, is it necessary to run a day/date timepiece forward 23 hours and reset the date or is there a safe shortcut. Again, would love a clip on that. It'd be a timely piece. No pun intended. Stay Mad Bro!!!

I wouldn't say big at 41mm, 52mm would be big, but definitely not too big. I'm pleased that Islander have been brave enough to go slightly larger with the Rangemaster 2. I got my order for the black dial in immediately, even before watching all the video.
I do like the black dial Erebus too though and they do look good quality 👍🏻 I get Sinn vibes from the black dial, but the white dial looks like any run of the mill Pepsi

I agree with you...a field watch or pilots watch is where it's at or at least the next step...Jody has definitely experimented with dial colour so I reckon he could knock the next one out of the park!

I was really tempted to get this but decided no. (I’m an owner of an origin 41). If this were a 38mm or if it had the miyota 9075 travelers gmt movement, then I would’ve immediately purchased this. Another great value watch though! Not different enough vs the origin 41. Plus I already have another gmt with this same Seiko movement they went with

I really really like it, and I bought the Origin and Ascent straightaway, but I will pass on this one. Like you said, I’m hoping they come out with different style, Field, Pilot, maybe a Solar Chrono? Thanks for the great review. 🐈 bum…😆

This feels way too safe imo. Nothing special, just a run of the mill gmt it could have any other brand name on it, and i wouldn't know the difference. I understand the origin as their first watch to get their name out there, and with the accent, at least the dial had some interesting designs, but this is a hard pass from me. It will probably sell well as youtube audiences love to own a piece of the person they watch. To be clear, i dont think it's a bad watch in any way other than originallity.
