Jody's attention was fully focused on those watches. Origin was a safe choice for entering the watch-selling market, while Ascent took a more adventurous approach in comparison. Great review, mate!

Really appreciating the 'something for everyone' approach that has become more apparent with more releases from Erebus. Case sizing variety, the frankly massive choice of colours, bracelet style etc. Does make it hard to pick just one but I'm of tne opinion that more choice is always good!

What I love about Erebus is the way they've gone about their business and so quickly built a supportive community of watch enthusiasts who enjoy their watches as much as they do

I love both the Erebus Ascent and the Origin. There is no need for these two watches to share a ‘design language’. They have different missions.
The design of one doesn’t offend that of the other.

The aventurine Ascent is stunning.

I like the juicy sun ray dial of the orange Origin. Does that one have a ceramic bezel insert ( it should). The all-brushed treatment for case and bracelet on the Origin is spot on for its mission.

I have ascent blue helix and origin 41 in black. Both are fantastic watches. I would add to your review that the Erebus community is best watch community I have found. Jody and Steven continue to ooze passion for their creations.

I own the origin 40 mm and I love it. I also own the ascend and I love it.. 7 1/2 inch wrist so the 40 is great. My only knock is the H Link bracelet has very sharp edges. Otherwise I’m very happy with my choice of orange dial… The ascend was obviously going for the SARB033 aesthetic and feel. One of Jody’s all-time favorite watches so that makes sense! Can’t wait for the next release.

I never get tired of looking at the Ascent. The hands and indexes do so much for it.

Erebus watches feel like a box ticking exercise, akin to the chinese alix brands, but with more thought to it and a genuine passion from the creators. I second your opinion, they should find their vibe to implement in all future watches.

I have a small watch collection, but it’s mostly the mainstream brands. I’ve been looking a for a daily watch that has great craftsmanship, awesome specs (reliable movement, sapphire crystal, good strap durable, utilitarian) and breaks away from the mainstream. I love Erebus because it ticks all the boxes, except me actually owning one. I have a 6.5” wrist and your review really made me love Erebus even more! New subscriber here!

Much love to Jody who has put in so much heart into what he does all these years. The Erebus brand itself is a culmination of what people deserve to have out of a watch at a fairly attainable price, at least for many.

I had to let go of my entire small collection of Seikos, Orients, and Microbrands during the pandemic... along with our house and car.

I have since been slowly getting back on my feet. I still cannot afford any of the Erebus pieces and it's not an excuse, but wouldn't it be cool to have a watch model named Ascent or Origin as the first watch to have after losing everything and starting all over?

I own an Erebus Ascent Blue Helix on the jubilee bracelet. This is my first "microbrand" watch, and I could not be more pleased. Your review is spot on. I look forward to seeing new releases and watching this brand grow.

This is probably by far the best review of Erebus watches I've seen - and if I'm being totally honest - I'm very impressed by the Origin 38.
When that watch originally came out, it looked "meh" in photos, but this video really did show the understated tool-watch vibe, which is even more impressive given the serious amount of specs without any compromises on the overall package.
This watch is a no-brainer for anyone looking to buy a GADA watch.

I love Erebus watches and that blue origin is 🔥!! The best part is the facebook community. All just watch lovers promoting the hobby. Props to Steve and Jody for doing so much to enhance the enjoyment of the hobby.

I went into Erebus ownership with the mentality that I'd give them a chance and I have been nothing short of impressed. Once my Origin GMT arrives, I'll have owned every model and I will continue to stick to Erebus for my affordable offerings. Erebus has better specs than legacy brands, more originality than Chinese brands, and overall excellent value in the microbrand space.

Erebus has done a fantastic job with these watches. Especially like the helix dials on the Ascent and so many different choices in color. Hard to find anything wrong with these watches. Thank you for the giveaway and great reviews as usual!

I like the fact that the watches are very different. The problem with the approach that Brew and Zelos use: if you don’t like their style approach, the entire catalogue is wiped out. I like that Jody is producing two watches that are unrelated, each with its own unique design language.

Love the Ascent dial! Been following Jody for a number of years. In fact he has been 1 of my chief teachers when it comes to watches. I like the fact he has brought to bear many of the points he has made over the years to his watches e.g. colored date wheel. Would love to see some leather/fkm rubber straps.

From my personal perspective, "Boring" watches typically have longevity over those that strive for differentiation. I'm typically drawn to the watches that can be described as "boring".
