As a Black man, some people from my community may see someone who isn't Black or Norse (they also wear locks) and they either won't like it or understand it. However, I appreciate the fact that he's wearing them as a sign of love for the culture. Hip Hop is in fact a black invention and he obviously loves it as much as I do. He's got my respect.

If they’re wearing dreads, braids, locs, whatever, then that means they appreciate the ways of people outside their country. It’s also noticed in things other than hairstyles

Dreadlocks are for everyone. If you don't like them, that's fine. Don't get them. But don't try and gatekeep something that's not yours exclusively. I think it's wonderful Japanese people are exploring this hairstyle.
