Ryan, I made a bad mistake in getting off of my 2008 Street Glide and got on a 2017 Road Glide Special for a test ride. Needless to say I am a proud new owner of a Milwaukee 8. I absolutely love the RGS. It handles like a sport bike, The new motor is amazing, has lots of power, no vibration, and is super comfortable to ride. Harley hit a home run with the M8.

1) You are not the average biker; you are amongst the best on the road. Thanks for your service.
2) Vibration - I missed the way my old TC-96 felt on start-up and at idle. The M-8’s performance makes up for the lack of “character.”
3) I hated the clutch on my 2020 Softail Standard at first. After 2, 000 miles I’m used to it.
4) LOL - it was 2019 before I realized H-D made a new engine - I need to pay more attention
5) My FXST feels like a fighter jet compared to my old Heritage.

Rode both the new 107ci and the '16 103ci. Personally, I chose the 103ci Road Glide Ultra. It just felt better to me. The 107ci was smoother, no doubt, but it was too smooth for my riding style. I'm not hating on the 107ci - I'm sure MANY people will love it! However, I'm sure I'll be happy with the staged up 103ci.

As my first bike I got a 14 Electra Glide. I like hearing about the changes.

Rode one just like this down to the color one time and bought it! Ryan is spot on about the new 107s!

I too own a '14 Street Glide and recently road tested a Crushed Ice White SG special during a my HD Dealer's Demo day. As soon as I got off it, I went for a ride on my SG and I can tell you that the new bike is light years ahead of the old bike. The torque of the new engine is amazing and they've reduced the vibration significantly to the point where I don't feel like my fillings are going be rattled loose. Some people like that vibration, but after riding the new bike, I can tell you that my 50+ year old body likes the new engine and suspension changes.

Like you, I also noted that the clutch lever feel has changed. It does let our later and I felt that mechanical feedback through the lever every time I shifted, up or down. I initially told my Dealer rep that it was a possible "deal breaker" after first testing an Ultra, however after riding the new SG back to back with my '14, my mind has changed since there are some many upsides to the new '17 model.

All in all, I want one. But then again, who doesn't want a new bike every few years?

I love your narration and comments!! There are some videos out there that say nothing at all. You are quite descriptive about everything that you notice between yours and this one. You do it in such a way that if I had my pocket bulging with enough, is head right down to the dealership and get one. I managed to sit on one at a recent motorcycle show and it fit me like a glove! That's amazing, and I only have 30" inseam. Im not the tallest guy around by any means. I want to thank you for doing this and a big thumbs up for the review!!

I up graded from an 08 Street Glide and just love the M8. I got the blue one and it is gorges. I went from the gold metal flake white. The clutch seems a little stiff to me compared to my 08. Getting in neutral is no problem for me. Taking curves is seamless. No wobble in the curves anymore. Getting used to the friction zone at the end of the clutch was the hardest to get used to but after awhile it got easier. Engine temp is still to be determined because I haven't got to ride in hot weather yet. Gas milage is about 4 mpg better. First time with cruise control on a bike. It didn't take long to love it. Absolutely no buyers remorse on this purchase.

I just bought the '17 Road king, Very happy. Comfort, handling, braking and power are all an improvement. 0-40 mph is a little stiff, 40 and up, is the best road king ever, handles more like a sport bike . Wonderful ride. The bikes torque is 85-90% at 2, 000 rpm. Hell of a bike. You will get used to the clutch, it works well.

Great vlog Ryan. Enjoyed it. I think HD is going to have to go towards the smoother and quieter aspect of biking primarily because their target demographic is aging. Younger and newer riders are not looking for the old school HD shakers and decibel crushers. I'm liking the new bikes...may consider the one you are testing here.

Rented one of these on the big island in Hawaii a few weeks ago. I put 500 miles on it over a couple days, first time I've ridden a bagger, also first time on a Harley and I Loved it. I set the cruise at one point and didn't touch the handlebars for like 5 miles, it's very stable, very "sporty" feeling for such a big bike, and the torque the M8 makes is very impressive. Planning on buying one in 2017 to start going on road trips with the wife. The only thing I didn't like was how smooth the click down into 1st is, it's so smooth it sometimes doesn't feel like it went in gear. Just something to get used to is all.

With my first Harley 17 107 RGS I am surprised with how that enhanced fork column bearing kept the steering so light and flickable. It exceeds the overall bike point and click skill based on weight. Love my first HD.

Dam right it's worth it! But now 114s are common. At least get the stage two and the torque cam.
They don't get too hot either with the eims system...
