As someone who’s had a ureteroscopy as well as lithotripsy, I can say lithotripsy is a walk in the park. They took excellent care of me, I felt no pain afterwards and am overall very pleased with the procedure. To anyone who may require this procedure, you shouldn’t be nervous and know that you’ll be just fine!

I just had this procedure today.
You get in and go through the registration stuff and Anastasia nurses took me to the procedure room. You’ll be put on a comfortable bed where they will position you in way where they can see the stone clearly (takes couple of minutes to get to the right position) from there you’ll be sent to the other side of the world. When I woke up I was already in a room. You’ll feel a bit light headed but it will get better within 30 min. My first pee was bloody but it got lighter later in the day. Nothing to be worried about. Good luck everyone

I had this procedure for a 9mm stone. I was asleep for it. It took me about 3 weeks to fully recover. Dr said he really had to pound my kidney because it wasn’t breaking up easily. The worst was the stent. Couldn’t get comfortable with it. They took it out a week later. Started feeling better after that.

I go in tomorrow on November 6th, 2023, for mine. They do an X-ray 2 days prior to evaluate it's size and position and 2 days after to see the results of the procedure. I have an 8mm stone. I have passed several 2, 3, and 4mm stones over the years including this past couple weeks. Lemonade and orange juice will get them moving. ***Ask your doctor whether or not to use citrus based drinks*** You will have blood and stones that will pass, but you may not want them to pass naturally if they are too big.

I just had this done today 1/26/24.
Ive already had 2 stints in the last month. My kidney stone was 11 mil. One of the biggest some nurses had seen.
I'm hopeful that I'm on the mend now ❤👌😊

I had this done in May for my right kidney and am having it done on my left kidney next month as I was diagnosed with multiple kidney and a large bladder stone that was removed by open surgery. I found it a painless proceedure and only felt the anaesthetic effect when I got up after surgery but after an ice block and food and drink over 4 hrs I was fine to go home again. The only thing I did not like was the sound of the machine was hard on my hearing. When I go next month I will wear earmuffs and ear plugs as ear muffs alone were not enough. The sound was like a toy hammer hitting concrete.

I have had 4 of these as of today.😓
1- on my left kidney, and 3 on my Right kidney. The right one stayed inside and got bigger each time. Hope this is the last time!😓Funny, I have never really had any pain!😀

I was so nervous before the treatment but after the nurse asked me to close eyes, I remember waking up in different room. The procedure was painless but there are some side-effects I'm facing like backpain...and its already more than 10 days but I'm still having hematuria...

This is my best option too, , the medecine that the doctor prescribed me is not helping, , the pain is still there, , but I don't have enough money for this procedure 😢

ESWL vs RIRS. When is one preferred over the other?
Does any of this treatments require a blood test pre-operation?
(I have a 7.3mm & a 4.4mm stone)

Stones are painful & if block is worst . %1of 2nd procedure %1 of painful %1 of bleeding . even at %5 of anything i would risk it, been in pain for 3to4 week anything is better than blocked kidneys .

I did it its not painful but you can say you will feel uncomfortable, the thing is that you dont know if its works or not until you wait around 1 week and keep drinking water
