After visiting the Olympic Village for the 2004 Summer Olympics, I hoped on the metro and headed straight to the Panthinaiko Stadium, home of the first 1896 Summer Olympics. How cool! This site is also famous because it is the only stadium in the world to be entirely built in marble. Beautiful!

I think Panathinaiko is one of the most fascinating stadiums in the world. It was originally built over 500 B.C. then refound for the 1896 games, and still in use today. That's one of the reasons I respect Olympic Games alot more than World Championship games.
