This is interesting. America is a LME (Liberal market economy) this strategy is more from a CME (Controleld market economy). What he basicly say, is that they incorporate contextual tasks outside of the primary work in the company which creates a sense of belonging and influence employees to take more responsibility and it also connects them more with the company and its values which builds motivation.
