I just past 8 years clean from prescription pain killers.... I was up to 65 pills a day. No I am not Those 6 years were the worst years of my life. I am so grateful for getting out of that mess.... Lost 115 pounds and quit smoking too.... Feel amazing! Congrats on 7 years!!!?

Congratulations on staying sober for 7 yrs (almost a decade at this point). Every now and then, I come back to watching these videos on your sobriety from alcoholism, coming from someone who is in the middle of a porn addiction and trying to change my life, personality, habits etc. Your story really is an inspiration one in the sense that understanding you aren’t defined by your addiction, regrets, mistakes, accidents, or bad circumstances, since life gives you the opportunity to admit you have a problem, and thus wanting to change and grow as a person. Personality change or transformation is possible through discipline, effort, and accepting that you aren’t alone and need help.

I’m two weeks shy of 4 years. Right behind you Sean. When I started I definitely watched your videos talking about this issue for inspiration. Everyone has to do what works for them. I’m not religious and I don’t attend AA meetings. But something I’m doing must be working. Being sober has opened up so many opportunities to me. Sean as someone who has been watching you since I was 12 and I'm 17 now, this video meant the world to me. I have always loved hearing you talk about movies and all that fun stuff, but hearing you tell your story about addiction and your journey of faith is so inspiring to me! I myself am someone who connects with movies on a deep level and they have always been escapism for me too. But hearing you talk about your experience with addiction and how Jesus and your faith was what truly what brought you out of that darkness was truly inspiring! I also had to learn the hard way that only Jesus can truly set you free! Hearing my favourite YouTubeer talk about real struggles that I relate too, and the freedom on the other side because that's why Jesus came was amazing to see. Recently I have been feeling really down and hopeless, but this video gave me hope to keep fighting because the battle is already won!

On my channel, when my viewers ask me the standard "YouTuber inspirations" question, I frequently cite you as a major inspiration to me in many ways in my life. Not only has your passion for media inspired me to hone in on mine, both with my channel and my day job, but you've also shown through example what maturity, positivity and perseverance can do in the constant journey towards self-improvement. I've had a lot of mental struggles over the last two years and hearing your candidness in so many videos throughout your channel has shown me that it's more than achievable to address your problems and create the life you envision for yourself.

This year I'm really excited to finally reconnect with my faith as I've wanted to do for years now and I owe that to the example you set as well. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that seeing your videos at a formative time in my life (starting when I was 16-17) and continuing to be invested has given me constant exposure to a healthy brand of masculinity that you hardly see in the content creation, influencer and media world. It's definitely played some part in my own struggle with substance usage and mental health, and subsequent pursuit of external help.
