California Burrito

The best burritos come from California. True or False?

This is a California Burrito. A southern California burrito style loaded with marinated carne asada, fresh pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole, sour cream... and the best part: FRENCH FRIES!

The orange salsa I’m using here is inspired by one of my favorites from La Victoria Taqueria in San Jose. I’ll show you how to make this one soon.

CALIFORNIA BURRITO

+ Flour tortilla
+ Carne Asada (recipe at Casita Made)
+ French fries
+ Pico de gallo (recipe below)
+ Guacamole
+ Cheese
+ Sour cream

PICO DE GALLO
*Makes about 1.5 cups

+ 3 Roma tomatoes, diced
+ 1/4 onion, diced and rinsed
+ 1/3 C cilantro, chopped
+ 1/2 lime, juiced
*To reduce the onion intensity, soak the diced onions in water for a few minutes before adding to the pico.

I’ve been living in Ventura county California since 1983. I’ve never eaten a carne asada burrito with French fries in it cause why would you? I admit to wanting guacamole and sour cream, but I’ve never gone out of my way to eat fries in my burrito. Cmon.
