I've been saying this for years, and this is the first I've heard anybody else repeat that, and I 100% agree.
I first thought about it when song lyrics were being displayed, I think it was one of the first things they were doing with the answers and the results. It would say where they got the lyrics from, but you never had to click on their page never had a chance to see their ads or whatever content they had.
Thanks were bound to change with the internet that we knew. I mean why would anyone invest time into providing greay quality content when the incentive just got removed
