River Otter Scat ID

In this video, I show a river otter scat and some of the contents of its diet that can be determined from scat. It's not always possible to identify 100% of the contents of a scat in the field. Scientists take them to a lab, dry them, then pick apart the contents. In the field you don't have that luxury, so you try to identify the diet items as best you can while crouching under the brush and picking it apart with a stick. That's what makes tracking fun! :) I also found where a gray fox had come to the river's edge to take a drink and I show those tracks here. All in all, it was a good tracking day!
