The Pacific Northwest has two of the most important U.S. House races in the country. Oregonians are going to choose a new treasurer, secretary of state and attorney general. There are 92 local measures to keep an eye on and five statewide measures — including a tax on big businesses in Oregon that could mean you get a check. People voting no on restrictive ballot measures that take power away from elected officials is why we can’t have nice things. Of course all the officials are gonna tell you to vote no on taking away their ability to raise their salaries. And of course all the officials who are owned by big businesses are gonna tell you to vote no on getting back the taxes paid by big businesses because then they would actually have to tax them.

Any time you tax a company all you do is raise your own cost of living because the increased tax is reflected in the prices you pay for goods and services.
