dont forget if you have coverage for say 250, 000 worth of damage then they are required to pay 250 per square foot THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND still be nice, THEY ARE NOT THERE TO PAY YOU THE RIGHT AMOUNT still be nice THEY WILL TRY AND MOVE YOU TO AN APARTMENT UNTIL THAT 2 months are up lol then you have to say NO I WILL STAY AT THE HOTEL WHERE THEY FEED ME # DAYS A WEEK WITH A KITCHENETTE :) or go ahead move to that apartment and pay the bills they wont lol electric gas etc etc . think before you speak or react if you have awesome carpet save the receipt if you can get exactly the same carpet do it, its in your best interest if the mitigation takes out the insulation you have to take out the drywall lol up to the ceiling there is no other way.

Hi Mike
I have wind damage to my roof. Some shingles flew off and laying around the house and 2 sections where my shingles are flipped upside down. I also lost about 8 siding panels. Well i called the insurance the adjuster cancelled the first appointment then finally showed up. He spent literaly 1 min on the roof. a couple days later we get a 600 dollar check in the mail and they said the shingles just needed nailed back down and just 2 dollars per siding panel. I think I need a public adjuster. Can I please get the number to your Ohio branch?

LETS SAY YOU ACCEPT THE$2, 800 DO THE LABOR YOURSELF? WOULD THAT MAKE YOUR PREMIUM GO UP ACCORDINGLY, LETS SAY A THIRD. COMPARED TO TWO THIRD'S IF YOU WERE TO ACCEPT THE $9, 000.00? ALSO NOW I WOULD HAVE TO ACCOUNT FOR YOUR FEE ! USING THE SAME EXAMPLE, HOW MUCH WOULD YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICES?

Mike a few questions! I am assuming that your services are not free. Are the based off a percentage of the RCV that you get above and beyond what the insurance company has offered? Or is it the total RCV? What is the percentage? Is the super special software you use for your estimates called xactimate? Is this the same software the insurance company's use? Don't insurance company's get in trouble from the Department of Insurance (DOI) for settlement of a claim that is intentionally wrote to low ball a customer? Can a contractor negotiate with the insurance company for let's say content manipulation? Do they do it free of charge? Do insurance company's make you sign any document during settlement? Or do they just send you a check with an estimate? Are there things not on an estimate due to an insurance company writing in multiply states, and there are different code requirements in every single municipality?

Use a public adjuster at your own risk. When additional damages are found (and it does happen) insurance companies will simply supplement the claim which is simple and any contractor will know the process. This happens all the time. Content manipulation is pretty much given on any claim where there are things to move out. Yes, there are bad adjusters who may not investigate properly but most are good at there job. My experience is there are more poorly trained public adjusters who do nothing but delay payments and maybe get you 5% more but end up taking 10% of your money. Who do you think pays them?

Get a contractor to give you a quote and send it to the insurance company. Public adjuster will take a percentage of the amount
