Has Sheffield City Council implemented traffic control measures to create problems and pollution for road users?

Couple of things here, first, if it was faulty there are cameras on those signals so the powers that be should know full well what is going on. Also, imagine living in one of those nearby flats and trying to get to sleep with that beeping away every minute !!

There are several lights in phoenix arizona that consistently do this with no cross traffic. They have also closed down multiple multiple full lanes of traffic for bicycle use only As if bicycles can pay for road

Looks like the Sheffield Council are on top of the carbon zero situation if they program the lights this way. Another tax required ? Perhaps tax and/or ticket the cars for idling and endangering the lives of the invisible man (person)

Thanks Mark, ive seen this many times without realising this before... but i think theyre trying to slow and decrease the movement and amount of cars. I travelled half way around the UK through many counties and motorways last week and I noticed the amount of roadworks with noone working, but it was still unecessary speed limits, ive also noticed that signs are put up for obstructions in the roads, when there arent. Road closures too, or diversions for no apparent reasons ~ but of course you dont realise that unless you ignore the signs. But funny enough there are still plenty of pot holes everywhere. What with the price of petrol etc, the new 20/30 speed limits aswell, one could think they dont want us to enjoy moving about freely 😂😂😂

We are also over run by Rats, especially in town and city centres, I think its possibly Rats that are chewing the cables. Bins getting emptied only once per fortnight could be the reason for the increase in rodent activity imho.

This is clearly a fault which they should promptly fix if it gets reported. Whether they will fix it quickly or not is another matter. There was a similar one stuck like this on Brightside Lane (nr Royal Mail) a few weeks back, and another near the city centre last year. I would have reported them, but by the time I got home I had forgotten about it. Where I live we have had the opposite problem. The lights didn't change at all when you pressed the button. They were like that for ages before anyone did anything about it.

There's a short circuit on the button, so it's just constantly cycling as if there are people waiting to cross.

I definitely feel there's something dodgy gone on with the timings of various red lights in Sheffield since the CAZ, there are many which turn green only for the next one to turn red, completely messing flow, increasing congestion and pollution.

Also the traffic lights on parkway roundabout (when coming from station, outside pondsforge, and others) are also dangerous because both sides go amber at the same time.

But I think this crossing is just a fault that needs reporting.

Omg! Not only that but i think they're on red for longer than they are green meaning the pedestrians have less time to cross but the cars are stuck idled longer!!! And they have a cheek to put up ulez cameras..

There is a crossing in Southend Shitty that is on a very busy dual carriageway that this happens at very often....creates major congestion....and likely lots of speeding upon getting through...almost seems deliberate?

I think the sensor on one of the button presses is stuck on to keep continuously arming the change.

It's not uncommon for someone to ' wedge ' something between the button and housing
