Take the nocks out to prevent pressure from pushing on the inserts

If you lightly score, or scour, the inside surface of the arrow the glue will have something to bite into, and will help adhesion. Do the outside of the insert too.

The other nice thing with the RIP TKO is that if you do want to go crazy on FOC, you can build an arrow with greater than 15% FOC without having to go super heavy becuase the GPI is the same when you jump from a 300 to a 250 spine.

VAP TKO SS elite. 250’s
520gn.
Chris I’m a 31” x 80# and these darts are so incredible… I’ll never move from victory.
Made by Mitsubishi’s carbon dept.
I also drive a Mitsubishi L200.
I trust them with my life.

I agree with everything except for the use of the outserts. I dislike them and have had multiple bent outserts cause arrow failure. Switched to hit inserts with Iron will titanium collars. Makes them rock solid! I’ve bent field tips and had no issue with the arrow, just replaced the tip and kept rolling.

I think my next dozen might be Victory or Sirius brand in 5mm. I've been using Day Six (.204 5mm) and Easton long range (.166 4mm) for a few years now. The Day Six HD 300 spines are tough as nails, never broken one. Can't say the same about the Easton's. I hit a golf tee on my target and one broke in half. I'm finding the .166/4mm's are just more fragile for whatever that's worth.

victory knocked it out of the park with the rip tkos, light, really strong, and very consistent

That’s very interesting that you are shooting basically the same arrow and weight I shoot out of my VXR28 at 75# with a 28.5 draw at 300fps. Very informative build.

I shoot a grim reaper 100 grain whitetail special and I just shot my first doe of the season the other night 437 grains total weight. Hit opposite side shoulder and blew through it complete pass through

I purchased Chris' small batch of these exact arrows. I got 1/250 👍, and they are METICULOUSLY crafted.

I’ve heard it’s good practice to have your nock removed when gluing the insert so back pressure doesn’t push the inset out. What’s your thought on that? Is that more of a concern when using hot melt, and not necessarily if you’re using a quick setting super glue?

The yellow wraps and fletching's really make the arrows visible.

Running a similar setup for this year, RIP XVs, X3 vanes, 6in wraps

I love your videos. I have learned a lot from you. I’m not trying to correct you. But when you talked about your ASD and trying to explain where your insert straitness comes from you can use the terms ID (inside diameter) and OD (outside diameter)
I think that’ll help get your point across incase you do other video like this in the future. Keep doing what you do. GREAT content.
