This video is so heartwarming - especially in this times when so many people complain about almost everything! Your way of seeing Germany really opens the eyes - every complaining German should see it.... ;-)

About walking everywhere: There is no better way to get to know a new place than waking. Most European city centers are small enough to explore on foot.

Being from El Salvador and having lived in Germany for 2 years now, I totally agree with most points! Personally, my favorite are things2, 3 and 9. Great video as always, greetings!

Thank you for sharing, Jen! It is wonderful to hear your story. I think you are both doing a fantastic job. I would not have made it to Germany as easily without your help. Thank you so much!

I travelled Central America some 20 years ago and also had a stopover in Guatemala City to take a plane to Honduras the next day. When I tried to leave the Hotel in Guatemala City in the evening to grab some food, the hotel manager asked me not to leave the hotel because it was too dangerous and that the hotel kitchen could fix me something if I was hungry. I followed the advice and I think it was a good idea.

I'm sure you get this all the time: I love your videos!! But especially becauseI can relate with Jen, as a Honduran (one of Guatemala's neighboring countries). I haven't yet left for Germany, tho.

Hi Jen and Yvonne! I just want to send a big thank you to you both as your channel has been really helpful and resourceful!! I will actually be moving to Düsseldorf later in the summer all the way from my home New York for an amazing job opportunity! I came across your channel, and it has really helped me gain a better understanding of living In Germany as an expat. I will continue to watch until I arrive and hopefully get myself mentally prepared for what awaits me in this new chapter of my life xD! - Thank you again! - David

I love your energies and perspectives coming together to make such a balanced view of what it's like to live in germany. As well as the care you put into these.

Thank you for making this series <3

I am from Guate and I agree with Jen. I live abroad and can definitely compare and contrast. People that were born and raised in 1st world countries don’t know how good they have it.

I love Oktoberfest as well....and I've been to the one in Munich quite often. I would recommend going to one of the smaller towns in Bavaria for their version of the same festival. I went to a Starkbierfest in a small town and it was SO great! No drunk tourists, competitions for men and women, and of course, great music!

I love walking in Germany, and I love being able to take the train all over Europe from Germany (plenty to see and do IN Germany as well by train). I have never taken a bus here, but I am hoping to learn that system as well. :) Thanks for such a wonderfully detailed look at life in Germany!
