My New 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime

In this video I pick up my brand new 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime from my local dealership. On the way home I test autosteer for the first time. It is part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. I also talk about the charging speed (or lack there of).

I'm very happy and excited. Seems like a great car so far. I like it more and more each day.

Bought my Rav 4 Prime SE from JP at Hometown Toyota Ontario Oregon.

They picked me up at the Boise Idaho airport drove me nearly one hour to their dealership and the battery and gas tank was full

Very nice car, this is the SE trim I believe, I heard the XSE is even going to be harder to find because they've got a lot of reservations for it lmao, I was quite impressed with how quiet the car was, and I'm pretty sure the XSE trim comes with the 6.6kwh hour charger that makes it charge to full in 2 hours the SE comes with a 3.3kwh

We're in Rochester and waiting for our XSE to come in. We test drove the Model Y in Henrietta and were floored how the "Regional Service Center" looked like a single bay, third rate tint shop. The Y drove great but rattled like a shopping cart full of cans and the advisor told us this was "one of the good ones". Not sure what special handshake you need to get a good vehicle for 60K at Tesla but we're thinking the Prime with Openpilot will probably be a much better ownership experience. Looking forward to your content!

Nice!! I have the same driving assist in my Lexus, it is worse than Autopilot yes. I find the system pretty good on straight roads and less good on curves. I like that it doesn’t completely disengage if you turn the wheel unlike the Tesla.

I ordered a 2020 RAV4 XLE with what I wanted on it and it took 10 days to have it delivered. It had 6 miles on it because the dealer drove to fill it up for me. I love the auto-drive system.

Dealer in California was asking 58k XSE and 50k SE that rediculouse.
I use a 2 pound wrist weight and wrap it on the side of the steering wheel it will trick your car into thinking that there is resistance.

It's a crime they don't deliver the car to you with a full charge. Make them aware of this for future sales.

Love to hear your experience on handling. At least in 2 videos, they commented that handling at corners isn't good. Also how you feel the CVT. Some say this model feels somewhat improved than the previous RAV4 hybrid model.

Our Sienna is the same with lane departure.. It's jerky because it's a reactive Lane keep assist as opposed to a Lane Centering which is a constant active system that centers you in your lane..

I noticed when you let it steer for you and it steered late it wasn’t actually registering the lanes at that exact moment so it didn’t hold its line. I wouldn’t advise keeping your hands off the wheel when it isn’t reading the lines.

Congrats on your purchase! Thank you for putting this video together--I love the new RAV4 design, and it really looks sharp in the black color. With the PPF and ceramic, it's going to look great for a long time. Toyota will figure out how to improve the car, and hopefully, they can update your car as you continue into your ownership experience.
